What To Expect

Join as a REALTOR®

When applying for membership, the following is a brief outline of what you can expect once we receive your application.
Upon receipt of your application, all information on the application is verified for accuracy and/or missing information.  The payment will also be checked and you will be notified if there are any problems.

Once the information is verified, it will be entered into our membership database which is transmitted to the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® bi-weekly.  This step takes approximately 24-48 hours depending on volume of applications received.  Once entered, you are entitled to membership benefits immediately.  However, your status will be held in a "Provisional" status until you have completed step 3.

Within 6 months from the date of application, all REALTOR® members must attend the New Member Orientation which is provided every other month beginning with January.  Failure to complete the orientation within the time allowed will result in your having to re-apply with the Association including all fees required.

Once you have passed the orientation class, your information is passed along to the Membership/Marketing committee for final verification and they in turn recommend the incoming applications to the Board of Directors for approval.

Once the Board of Directors have approved your application, a member from the Membership/Marketing committee will contact you to cordially invite you to attend the next Association dinner meeting where you will be publicly recognized for your achievement by being presented with a REALTOR® pin after swearing to uphold the REALTOR® Oath.  In addition, from that point forward, your status with the Association will be that of an "Active" status which will then allow you access to the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® website as well as the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® website.
