About REALTOR® Association of Pioneer Valley
HISTORY OF THE ASSOCIATION
The REALTOR® Association of Pioneer Valley, Inc. was founded as a chapter of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® in May of 1915. The initial membership consisted of five REALTORS®, Edward J. Murphy, John W. Crane, J. William Hanlon, E.H. Hamblen and Walter P. Hubbard gathered around a table at the Worthly Hotel in Springfield, and the first Association office was located in the offices of members.
The Association, State Association, and the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® have grown over the years and remained true to their original goals -- the creation of unity in the real estate profession, the protection and promotion of private ownership of real property and the establishment of professional standards of practice.
