DONALD  E.  THOMPSON  OF  EAST  LONGMEADOW  INSTALLED  2008  PRESIDENT  OF  THE REALTOR®  ASSOCIATION  OF  PIONEER  VALLEY

Springfield, MA – January 10, 2008 – On Tuesday, January 8 the REALTOR® Association of Pioneer Valley (RAPV) installed the 2008 elected officers and directors during ceremonies conducted as part of the association’s 93^rd Annual Installation Banquet.  The event was held at The Delaney House in Holyoke.

Donald E. Thompson Jr., a real estate professional since 1991, and agent in the Longmeadow office of Keller Williams Realty was installed 2008 president of the 2,200-member organization.

As president, Don will oversee the organization’s activities and operations between meetings of the Board of Directors, and act as a liaison to the association’s various committees.  He is the official spokesperson for the association on issues related to the real estate industry and the local housing market.  In addition, he represents the association as a director on the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) Board of Directors.  Don holds the professional designations ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), ePRO (Electronic Technology Professional), and SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist).

Susan Renfrew, 2008 president of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® administered the oath of office to all officers and directors.  Other guests included Kevin M. Sears, the 2008 treasurer/secretary of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS®, and Rob Authier, Executive Vice President of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS®    

A resident of East Longmeadow, Don Thompson has chaired many committees for the Association of REALTORS® and is especially dedicated to professional development and technology.

Other officers installed include: Mark D. Abramson, CCIM, CBR of Bernardston as president-elect, Kathleen M. Witalisz, CRB, CRS, GRI, SRES of Westfield as treasurer, Vincent Walsh of Sprinfield as secretary, and Priscilla Harman, CBR, CRS, GRI, SRES as immediate Past-President.  Directors installed include: Carolanne Bright, GRI of South Hadley, Edward F. Cassell, GRI, CBR of Westfield, Arthur A. Ferrara, GRI of Hampden, Corinne A. Fitzgerald, CRS, GRI, LTG of Northfield, Lucianne Giguere of East Longmeadow, Shelley Gutowski, CBR, CRS, GRI of Westfield, Karen King, CRS, GRI of Monson, and Will Pratt of Bernardston.

Organized in 1915, the REALTOR® Association of Pioneer Valley is a professional trade organization with 2,200 members serving Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties.
